“N2,200 for rice” – Nigerian man breaks down into tears in market after he was unable to buy food items with his little money (Video)
A video making the rounds online has captured moment a Nigerian man burst into tears in market over his inability to buy food items due to the harsh economic challenges.
In the viral video, the Nigerian man is visibly emotional as he walks through the busy market. Tears flow down his face as he talks about his difficulty affording basic food items, especially rice, due to his limited funds.
The video went viral at a time Nigerians grapple with the high cost of living.
He could be heard asking for the prices of the food items. Realizing that he couldn’t afford to buy the food items with the money he had, he began to cry.
He pleaded to the shop keeper for discount, stating that he needs to get food home to feed his children.
Despite his plea, the shopkeeper refused to offer him a discount, leaving the man to depart feeling disheartened.
The man’s tearful breakdown sheds light on the harsh realities faced by many Nigerians amidst economic challenges and soaring food prices.
