“AKA’s killers arrested; they’re his close associates” – Police Minister reveals
The police Minister has given an update on the ongoing investigations into the sudden death of Kiernan Jarryd, known as AKA.
Recall that on February 10, outside of a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, South Africa, the renowned hip-hop musician was cruelly shot and died.
The minister revealed in an interview with Faith Mangope on Metro FM that several people who were recognized as close friends of the deceased AKA had been detained about the murder.
He further disclosed that on the day of the unfortunate incident, the police were able to find the getaway car and the murder weapon.
Cele reported that two suspects are in custody at the moment and emphasized that their safety is being given special attention because of the important information they may have about the plan behind the musician’s murder.
His remarks;
“We have found the getaway car, the gun has been found. They have found two people who I know for sure are kept safe because they know very well what happened on the particular day, who have given information for the police to get the gun, for the police to get the car.
“Those things are in the hands of the police as we speak. We know who we are chasing. And those two guys must be kept very safe because they know what happened on that day, and even beyond what happened, [they know] about the networks that led to the unfortunate murder of AKA.”
The police minister added: “Those people … some of them were hired. Some of those people were close associates.”
