A Nigerian nurse has taken to social media to call out the Ondo state government for owing intern nurses in the state eight months’ salary.

In a video shared online, the nurse tearfully pleaded with the state government to pay them their hard-earned money because they worked for it.

She said she is completely broke right now and doesn’t know how to beg people for money, hence her decision to publicly call out the government.

She claimed that whenever they refused to work to protest against the government, the hospital management always threatened to terminate their contract.

According to her, she is tired of the situation and wants the government to pay the accrued salary.

In her words:

“Please pay our money. You people will come out and say voice out. Please I am broke now. I am begging you on my own right, pay all the 46 intern nurses you are owing, we are tired.

“We are tired, we don’t know what else to do, you people actually know that we worked. You’ve seen every evidence. So What else do you want?

“For me to come outside and say this, you guys should see my face please I’m not going to call names. But please if you know you have conscience, pay us our money because I cannot ask guys for money, don’t push us to the wall.

“Please pay our money, 8 months salary. How will you be owing a nurse for 8 months? For those of you who will come to blame us asking why we didn’t stop working, it’s not easy they threatened to terminate our contracts, and if we go to a different place we will have to start all over again to make it a year.”
