JUST IN: Bandits attack APC leader and several others in Zamfara

Bandits have reportedly attacked a youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hamdan Alhazzai Shinkafi with many others along Kaura Namoda-Shinkafi road in Zamfara State.

According to reports, the youth leader suffered deflated tyres due to several gunshots from the terrorists in the attack which happened on Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023.

A source said the bandits riddled travellers’ vehicles with bullets.

The Zamfara State Police Command’s spokesman, Mohammed Shehu confirmed that an attack occurred on the Kaura Namoda-Shinkafi highway.

Bandits have killed about 8,000 people since 2011 and forced more than 200,000 to flee their homes, according to an estimate by Brussels-based Crisis Group.

Some of them are also known to have developed ties with international terror groups such as Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP).
