Portugal defender, Pepe has blamed Lionel Messi and Argentina referee Facundo Tello after the Selecao’s World Cup exit at the hands of Morocco..




He believes that the Argentine official should not have been appointed for their World Cup game.

Morocco became the first African nation in history to reach the World Cup semi-final.

Speaking after the painful defeat to Morocco, Pepe said FIFA’s decision to appoint the team of Argentine officials was ‘unacceptable’.


“it is unacceptable for an Argentine referee to referee us today after what happened yesterday, with Messi and Argentina talking,” he told SIC Noticias

The 39-year-old also blamed the referee for allowing only eight minutes of added despite the Moroccan goalkeeper slowing down the game.
