Qatar 2022: Gareth Southgate takes final decision on coaching England

England boss Gareth Southgate has finally made up his mind on whether to stay or leave the Three Lions after their World Cup exit..

The Telegraph reports that the English man has decided to remain as England’s manager.

Southgate’s current deal expires in 2024 and the coach will now lead England to the next European Championships.

Southgate considered leaving the England national team over continued criticism and attacks on his person after his team crashed out of the World Cup to France in the quarter-finals.

He was also slammed during England’s disappointing Nations League campaign earlier in the year.

This is despite the former Premier League player guiding the Three Lions to the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Southgate also took England to the Euro 2020 final last summer.

The Telegraph says the coach has taken his time to consider his position since England’s defeat to France last week and also spoke with friends and family about his future.

He has now decided that he will remain in charge until the end of his current contract, though he is yet to inform the Football Association.

The news will be a huge relief to the Football Association who have been desperate for the manager to at least see off his contract.
