“I Will Not Allow A Man To Destroy The Nigerian Church With His Selfish Interest” – Wike Lament

In this political season, there has been games and ploys being played by some politicians in order to romance the people about their Presidential ambition.

A lot of Presidential candidates in the last couple of months have visited some churches and attended their church programmes. While some political analysts have warned that the house of God should not be used for political reasons.

The Governor Of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike speaking in an Anglican church has attacked the politicians who attend church service because of their political ambition.

He stated that they are trying to portray it as though the Christians are in a conflict with other religions. He stated boldly that he will not allow religious conflict to overwhelm this country ahead of the 2023 election.

He said, “I have seen people who come to talk about the church, ask them what has been their contribution to the growth of the church. Ask them, when they were in a position of authority, what contribution did they make for the church to thrive.

It is now that the election has come that you want to come and tell the church a different story. I will not allow a man to destroy the Nigerian church with his selfish interest, we have to be careful.”
