A woman who went missing in Indonesia’s Jambi province was killed and swallowed by a python, according to local reports.

The woman only identified as Jabrah was reported missing on Sunday, October 23, after she failed to return home in the evening.

However, her husband found some of her clothes and tools she uses as a rubber-tapper, and later informed neighbours who called on a search party.

Police report indicates that after a day, villagers spotted the python with an unusual large stomach, prompting them to kill the reptile on suspicious that it had swallowed the woman.

“The victim was found in the snake’s stomach,” Betara Jambi police chief AKP S Harefa told local media outlets, adding that her body appeared to be largely intact when it was found.

On the fateful day that she met her death, the rubber-tapper, in her 50s, had reportedly gone to work at a rubber plantation.
