I Had No Idea I Would Live This Long – Burna Boy Opens Up On His Past
Nigerian Afrobeat icon and Grammy-winning musician, Burna Boy, has chronicled his some past events in his life that borders on his arrest and incarceration in British prisons..
In a series of tweets he made and later deleted, Burna Boy relived some of the incidents from his past, saying he never imagined he would live this long after all that occurred in his life.
Burna Boy claims that he is not offended by people criticizing him or posting unfavorable comments about him.
According to the ‘African Giant’ star, being the biggest Nigerian musician is not important to him. He claimed that looking after his people is the only thing that gives him joy.
He wrote;
“I came into the music industry straight from Chelmsford HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long.
“So when people talk about me now, it’s all just funny. Of course, I would perform with my injured leg, or even no legs or arms.
“Nigeria really doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist. I’m just happy I can do what I love and take care of my people from it.
“If you knew just half of the shit I used to do for money, risking my freedom daily, you would be way happier for me.”
