The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is said to have the support of at least five governors, according to a statement credited to the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Bashiru Apapa.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has allegedly enjoyed the support of Nigerian youths across the country, particularly in the South- East.

Therefore, while speaking on the fan base of the former Anambra State, the Deputy Chairman of the party said there are many people who are supporting the LP candidate’ s ambition to succeed President Buhari in 2023.

According to a report by Daily Post, Mr. Bashiru made this known while speaking in Ado Ekiti during a sensitisation programme for LP members at the weekend.

He added that some leaders of the heads of state are Obi’ s supporters. He said, ” There are some people who you may not believe are coming up to support Obi; some leaders up to heads of state are in support of Obi. ”

Also, he revealed that some present governors are ready to work for the emergence of Mr. Obi and the Labour Party to take over the government comes 2023, stressing that it’ s inappropriate to mention their names at the moment.

”Many governors, more than five of them, are supporting the party underneath. We don’ t want to mention their names for now, ” he said
