Obasanjo Reveals Those Capable Of Changing Nigeria’s Situation

Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, has urged the youth to change Nigeria’s leadership if they want to see a change in the condition.

Edujandon.com reports that Obasanjo made this known on Friday during a recent visit by the controversial veteran singer, Charles Oputa better known as Charly Boy.

Speaking to the legendary musician and activist about the nation, Obasanjo said that it was not God’s fault that the country was in its current state, but rather the decision of the government, and that only young people would be able to change it.

He maintained that bad leadership is the reason why many are poor and frustrated, particularly the youths, noting that he will ensure Nigeria gets the leadership it deserves, reason why he doesn’t want just any individual who would not achieve whatever they promised to do.

When asked to advise “frustrated Nigerians” Obasanjo said, “That we are frustrated and poor is not the fault of God, it is the choice of our leaders. And if you have to change that, change our situation, you have to change leadership. I always say, Nigeria is my own baby, the one I want to put a beautiful bead on its waist, not an individual.
“In the north they say, ‘La mu la muni’. ‘Tiwa n tiwa’, in south-east, it’s ‘Nka bu ka nyi.’ Now, that is not the issue, the issue is Nigeria.”
