Massive explosion hits Kabul mosque, 20 dead, many injured

A massive explosion has hit a mosque in Afghan’s capital, Kabul during the evening prayer, with 20 people feared dead and about 40 others injured..



Khalid Zadran, the Taliban’s Kabul police spokesman, was quoted by local media as saying there had been an explosion in the city’s 17th district.

Sheikh Amir Mohammad Kabuli a known religious scholar in the Kabul region, was killed in the blast inside the mosque in Khair Khana area.
According to multiple sources, at least 20 worshippers were killed and dozens were wounded.
Afghanistan is a new battle field for different terrorist’s outfits.
Among the killed persons, many are worshipers who were inside the mosque when the incident took place.
One Taliban intelligence official told Reuters that as many as 35 people may have been wounded or killed, and the toll could rise further.
Al Jazeera quoted an unidentified official as giving a death toll of 20.
Kabul’s Emergency Hospital said on Twitter they had received 27 patients wounded in the blast, including a seven-year-old child..
