IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu bags ‘Battle Axe of God’ award
An Umuahia-based church has honoured the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, with the ‘Battle Axe of God’ award..
Prince Emmanuel, Kanu’s younger brother, received the award on his behalf from Rev. Evang. Amarachi Joseph, the president of Women of Favour, Gracious International Ministry Church, Umuahia.
She said the women decided to honour Kanu because “he is a fighter and believer in peace, justice and liberation of humanity.”
The women leader pleaded with President Muhammad Buhari to release Kanu without further delay, stating that the IPOB leader did not commit any crime.
Joseph argued that Kanu’s immediate and unconditional release just as the United Nations Human Rights Council had requested, would calm tension in the south-east.
Kanu is a faithful child of God, he does not discriminate. We plead with Mr President to please tamper justice with mercy.
“May God touch your heart to yield to the prayers of the church and release Nnamdi Kanu,” she said.
Apostle Ikechukwu Joseph, founder of the church, in his remarks, tasked the Federal Government to stop the killings in the country.
Kanu’s brother thanked the women for recognising the contributions of the IPOB leader.
Emmanuel, who broke down in tears over his brother’s ordeals, promised to convey the message to him.
