INEC Finally Speaks On Osun Election Ending Inconclusive
The people of Osun State have been assured by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the July 16th governorship election in the state will not be declared inconclusive.
Recall that the electoral body in 2018 declared the governorship election inconclusive, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke was leading.
The rerun was eventually won by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola.
Protesters who smelled foul play on Sunday stormed the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, the state capital insisting that the 2022 governorship election must not end inconclusively.
The supervising INEC National Commissioner, Prof Kunle Ajayi, while speaking ahead of the commencement of the final collation exercise, said the election would end on the first ballot.
According to Ajayi, the results of the 30 Local Government Areas had been uploaded to the INEC portal.
