Aggrieved members of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress have denounced the primary election which produced Lanre Oshun as the party’s House of Representatives candidate for the Lagos Mainland (West) federal constituency.

To express their grievances, the members, in their hundreds, stormed the residence of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

A press statement, jointly signed by Baba Babs Fashina and Akibu Bankole, Chairman and Secretary respectively of Lagos Mainland West Elders Forum, said that the exercise, held on Friday, May 27, 2022 was a complete fraud.

Valentine Obienyem, the media adviser to Peter Obi, says the Labour Party presidential candidate’s trip to Egypt will benefit Nigerians.

He said this in a statement issued on Thursday, a few days after the former Anambra governor explained that he embarked on the trip to understudy the North African country’s power sector. The move generated heated debates among Nigerians with critics faulting the trip.

Supreme Court Okays Use Of Hijab In Lagos Schools

The supreme court has affirmed the rights of Muslim female students in Lagos state to wear hijab to school.

In October 2014, a Lagos high court ruled on prohibited the wearing of hijabs in schools, a decision that was overturned by an appellate court in July 2016.

Delivering judgment on Friday, five out of a seven-member panel of the apex court held that banning the use of hijab is discriminatory.

It was gathered in Abuja, on Thursday, that although the consultative committee set up to assist Atiku pick a running mate was predominantly favourably disposed to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, the candidate opted for Okowa, whom he felt was level headed and had the right temperament to add value to the ticket.

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State have warned that the party is seriously at risk in the State.

The group under the aegis of “The Concern APC Members/Supporters in Aliero/Gwandu/Jega Federal Constituency, Kebbi State Forum”, in a statement on Thursday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari, APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, APC National Deputy Chairman, North, Senator Abubakar Kyari, APC National Vice Chairman, North West Salihu Lukman, and APC Kebbi State Chairman, Abubakar Kana to quickly take decisive action in order to halt all sharp practices, actions and tendencies that will undermine the success of the party in the next year general election.
