He’s so humble – Philippe Coutinho reveals his idol in football

Aston Villa star, Philippe Coutinho has identified manager, Steven Gerrard, as his idol in football..

Coutinho, who joined Aston Villa from Barcelona, played alongside Gerrard during their time at Liverpool.

He said Gerrard was so humble and everything he did was so simple during his playing career.

The Brazilian stated this ahead of Aston Villa’s Premier League final day fixture with Manchester City on Sunday.


“I remember I was very nervous when I saw him,” Coutinho told Sportsmail.

“He was an idol for me and everyone. I was very young but he was so humble and everything he did was so simple.


“I used to watch him train and how he reacted in games and did things. For me, it was a big thrill to play with him.
