Dybala claimed Cristiano Ronaldo “difficult to deal with” as Man Utd eye reunion

Paulo Dybala once claimed that former Juventus team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo was “difficult to deal with” as the pair chased 100 goals for the Italian club..

Dybala has now officially announced that he will be leaving Juventus at the end of this season, leaving some of Europe’s elite scrapping to secure his services for free this summer. Manchester United are reportedly one of the sides interested, setting up for an unlikely reunion.

But the Argentine expressed frustration during the final year that Ronaldo was at Juventus, as both players closed in on 100 goals for the club. Dybala told Twitch in April 2021: “Ronaldo and I are challenging each other to reach 100 goals with Juventus.

“I need only one, while he still needs three. He always wants to win, even in training, and if he loses he becomes difficult to deal with for a few minutes.”

Both players reached their target of 100 goals in the end, but Ronaldo’s attitude when losing seemed to annoy Dybala at the time. Unfortunately for Ronaldo, that losing feeling has become rather routine since he moved back to United this season.

United fans have started to become optimistic that Dybala could be on his way to Old Trafford, as his agent reportedly made his way to London to speak to both Arsenal and the Red Devils. It has been reported that Dybala’s agent is likely to test the waters and will make a proposal to United.

Dybala has been heavily linked with a switch to Serie A rivals Inter Milan, but the appeal of the Premier League may be enough to turn his head. The Argentine was close to a switch to Tottenham when the club were managed by Jose Mourinho, but remained in Turin.

But a United deal may be obstructed because of their underwhelming league position, as Dybala wants to play in the Champions League. As it stands, United are only just clinging on to a Europa League position, although it’s unlikely they will lose their place to West Ham.

And according to Il Bianconero, Dybala could choose Arsenal – but again it depends on their ability to finish within the top four. Inter have confirmed their place in next season’s Champions League, but a move to England hasn’t been ruled out just yet.
