South Korean university to issue NFT degrees and certificates to all 2,830 graduates
South Korea’s Hoseo University will award non-fungible token (NFT) degrees and certificates to all of its 2,830 graduates for 2021 at a graduation ceremony on Friday..
The university hopes that switching from paper degrees to NFTs will improve access to administrative services and prevent forgery or alteration of degrees. Numerous industries and entities in South Korea are reported to have started adopting NFTs, with the country’s conglomerates Samsung, SK and LG including NFTs in their latest line of goods and services.
Earlier this week, South Korea’s Samsung-backed Sungkyunkwan University presented NFT certificates to three students at its graduation ceremony.
