Manchester United are set to fight Arsenal to the signing of Alexander Isak, according to reports..

Ralf Rangnick confirmed his side will need to replace ageing duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.

And now Daily Mail report the Red Devils will rival the Gunners in the race for Isak.

The Swedish striker, 22, has been banging the goals in for Real Sociedad with 41 in 116 games and attracting plenty of interest from Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s side were unprepared to trigger his £75million release clause in the January window.

Cavani, 35 on Monday, is out of contract at the end of the season and expected to leave. And with Ronaldo just turning 37, the Mail report suggests United may swoop for Isak.

The Portuguese legend is also considering ending his two-year Old Trafford return early and has told pals he is finally starting to feel his age.

The veteran striker has not scored in five appearances this year and was kept on the bench for most of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley.
