Manchester United boss, Ralf Rangnick has revealed what Cristiano Ronaldo told him after the Portuguese came off the pitch angry following his substitution for Marcus Rashford in the second half..
Rashford came on to replace the Portugal international in the 70th minute and the former Real Madrid frontman was visibly angry.
Second half goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford gave Rangnick’s men all three points in the Premier League clash against Brentford on Wednesday.
Rangnick said the Portuguese forward demanded to know why he was the one being called off the pitch, according to Athletic’s Laurel Whitwell.
“He said, ‘Why me, why did you take me off?’” Rangnick said of Ronaldo.
“I said I had to take the decision for the team, for the club. Maybe in a few years when he is a coach he will understand.”
