Steven Gerrard makes history after Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace
Aston Villa boss, Steven Gerrard, on Saturday made history following his side’s Premier League 2-1 away victory over Crystal Palace..
Aston Villa won the game thanks to goals from Matt Targett and John McGinn.
Marc Guehi did score a late consolation goal for Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
However, Aston Villa’s win over Crystal Palace means Gerrard is now the only second manager to win his first two Premier League games in charge of Aston Villa, after John Gregory in February/March 1998, according to OptaJoe.
Gerrard was appointed Aston Villa manager earlier this month.
The Liverpool legend joined Villa from Scottish giants, Rangers.
Gerrard will now hope to lead his side to victory when they take on Manchester City on Wednesday in their next game.
Gerrard’s men currently sit in the 11th position on the Premier League table with 16 points from 13 games
