Man United dumped out of Carabao Cup
Manchester United are out of the Carabao Cup, knocked out at Old Trafford by West Ham.
A goal by striker Manuel Lanzini in the 9th minute settled the match.
It was a revenge of sort as Manchester also narrowly beat West Ham at home at the weekend in the Premier League, with a winner by Jesse Lingard.
And there it is sports fans! A memorable win for West Ham – a first at Old Trafford since 2007 – and a happy return for David Moyes. It’s revenge of sorts for Sunday and, truthfully, I think you have to say the Hammers deserved that. Lanzini’s first-half opener was enough to get the job done and by the end of the game it was Henderson who had made the more important saves. It’s on to round four for West Ham, while for Solskjaer it’s another chance of silverware that falls by the wayside.
