OFFICIAL: Ligue 1 is not among the top 5 leagues in the world anymore as the Portuguese league have taken its place.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain is one of the richest clubs in the world. They have spent some huge money on player signings as well as on player wages. They have now almost made a dream World XI team on their own with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe up front, though Mbappe may leave for Real Madrid. But still, PSG has Di Maria in their attacking ranks.

New signing Wijnaldum will partner Veratti in the middle of the park. And Ramos, Hakimi and Donnarumma will look into the defensive parts. PSG signed Ramos and Messi, two of the most decorated players of this generation, on a free transfer.

However, it has now been made official that the French league, Ligue 1 is not in the top 5 leagues in the world anymore. Portuguese league, Primeira Liga has overtaken them into the 5th position.

This means Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Neymar will now play in one of the best leagues around the world. They will be plying their trade outside the top 5 leagues in the world, probably for the first time in their career.

You can check the Association club coefficients on UEFA’s Official Website yourself.

There have been many fans who are upset to see such a monopoly of a club, PSG, in the French league as it eliminates competition even though Lille won the Ligue 1 last season. And now Messi will be playing in one of the lesser competitive leagues, which surely undermines his abilities.
