Gylfi has played 78 national games for the Icelandic men’s national team and scored 25 goals in them. He was a key member of the national team when Iceland played in its first major tournament, the European Championship 2016, and reached the quarter-finals after a glorious victory over England. He was also in the group at the 2018 World Cup.
