The Nigerian Airforce (NAF) has confirmed that it successfully shelled a terrorist base in Lamboa, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday..

NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, disclosed this to Peoples Gazette on Sunday.

PRNigeria had earlier in the day disclosed that NAF Alpha-Jets, L-39 and MI-35 helicopters launched multiple airstrikes at the terrorists’ base.

The outlet also reported that a notorious ISWAP logistics commander Modu Sulum was killed by the bombings alongside several others.

Confirming the operation, Mr Gabkwet described the operation as a successful one but was unable to identify the terrorist organisation it invaded as of the time of filing this report.

The NAF spokesman said: “We bombed some gun trucks; we don’t know whether it belonged to anybody.

I can’t confirm the victims of those gunshots yet but all I can say is that it was a successful strike.”

“Out of eight gun trucks, our aircrafts were able to take out six of those gun trucks.

If we can take out six gun trucks, definitely, there will be victims but I cannot confirm or ascertain the identities of those victims.

It’s going to take time for us to get to the bottom of that,” he further disclosed.
