Lagos Police Vows To Arrest Residents Who Falsely Accused And Burnt A “Mad Woman” To Death For Being In Possession Of Guns (Details below)

According to to a report we gathered, the Lagos state police command have vowed to arrest residents who reportedly tortured and burned an innocent mentally unstable woman to death. You’ d recall that the mad lady was reportedly burnt to death by an overzealous mob over allegations that she was found in possession of 3 AK47 riffles and a stolen baby.

The sad incident reportedly occurred around Abule Ado, (Under bridge) in FESTAC area of Lagos state. According to the reports we gathered, some passerby reportedly raised an alarm that they had some guns among the belongings of the mentally- ill woman, a crowd immediately gathered and acting in a mob behaviour the woman was lynched and burnt to death.


However the Lagos state Command in a statement revealed that their preliminary investigations on the matter had shown that the woman was actually innocent, the police further revealed that the mentally challenged woman who was falsely accused of being in possession of the weapons, had been living in the area for several years prior to the incident.

The Police also revealed that none of the weapons for which she was set ablaze accused and subsequently murdered for, was actually found in the area and that no stolen baby was also found by the police investigation team which had been sent to the scene for spot assessment.

The Police in their statement stated categorically that the case was beyond a case of crowd behaviour or jungle justice, as the woman was outrightly framed and murdered for reasons best known to the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

The Police further went on to add that investigationswas still going on and that there were working to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime against an already physically and mentally disadvantaged woman.
