I Stole Plantains to Raise N10,000 For My Girlfriend‘s Makeup — Suspect

A young man who w as arrested for stealing bunches of plantain in Ebedebiri, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa has revealed the bizarre circumstances which motivated him to commit the crime..



In his statement, the man said he stole the plantain in order to raise N100,000 to purchase a makeup kit for his girlfriend.

According to reports shared by community leaders on Monday, May 24, the suspect was caught and during interrogation by a community leader, Peres Double, the suspect claimed that his girlfriend demanded for the sum of ten thousand naira (N10,000) supposedly to buy make-up and had given him a deadline to get the money.

From what we sighted on Instablog9ja, the suspected thief from Angiama community, said he became so frustrated that he entered people’s farms in the community, harvested their plantains in a bid to sell them and raise money for his girlfriend.

The suspect pleaded with the community leadership to forgive him.

The Ekiti police command has therefore launched an investigation into the alleged harassment of the principal and teachers of Mary Immaculate Girls’ Grammar School in Ado-Ekiti LGA of the state, by five of its personnel.

The officer, Agenoise Elijah was said to have stormed the school with his colleagues on Friday to express his reservations against the school authorities for reprimanding his daughter.

According to Instablog9ja, the daughter was said to have come to school with a different hairstyle outside the one prescribed by the authorities.

The officers allegedly harassed the principal, tore the dress of a female tutor, and seized the mobile phone of another teacher. Confirming the incident to NAN, Sunday Abutu, the Ekiti command’s public relations officer, gave the assurance that the accused officers “shall not be spared if found guilty.”
