According to a recent news on human rights by the federal Government of US, the administration of President Buhari has continually shown favoritism to a particular tribe in the nation.

The US reports on human rights in the country have revealed that President Muhamadu Buhari has kept giving important and best positions to a particular ethnic tribe.

Remember that few days ago, President Buhari left Nigeria to receive proper medical care in London, United Kingdom.

The statement was made by his Special Aide, Garba Shehu, who said that Buhari’ s visit to the UK was nothing severe, adding that President Buhari is expected to return back home soon.

While speaking on Buhari’ s favoritism to a particular ethnic group, the US human rights reports on Nigeria, implied that the President didn’ t comply with the requirements to elect his own cabinet ministers from all the states in Nigeria.

However, words from the United States Government also stated that secret relationships were used to pressure the top government officials into favoring a particular ethnic group for a chief position.

According to the reports, President Buhari- led Government is said to favour the northern tribe of Nigeria, particularly his northern base.

This wouldn’ t be the first time that President Muhammadu Buhari has been faced with credible charges like this.

Remember that the IGP, Mohammed Adamu was to be replaced by a different Inspector General of Police earlier this year.

But President Muhamadu Buhari ignored Adamu’ s retirement for 35 years in service and retained him as the IGP.

Its very important to note that all public and chief positions are to be fairly shared to all ethnic groups in the country.

Inline with the Nigeria Constitution, the government must make sure that all chief positions fairly reflect the ethnic diversity of the country.
