The Imo State Government through the Commissioner for Information, Chief Declan Emelumba revealed that ‘ Northern youths are planning attacks against Igbo property in the north. ‘

The Commissioner disclosed this on Friday while reacting to Okorocha’ s warning to Governor Hope Uzodinma not to politicize the security situation of Imo State.

Emelumba accused the former governor of inciting northerners against the state, he explained that some northern youths in a press conference after Monday’ s attack on Imo Police Command headquarters condemned Gov Hope Uzodinma and effusively praised Okorocha.

The commissioner added that Okorocha went to the north to castigate Igbo leaders for his selfish interest.

His words, ” It is a direct slap on the face of Imo people for Okorocha to say that the cause of the security breaches in the state was poverty and injustice when he greatly impoverished Imo people by mindlessly appropriating their commonwealth in a most unjust manner, as established by the judicial commissions of inquiry that investigated his tenure in office.

“Do you know the collateral damage that rascality and indiscretion have cost Ndigbo? As I speak, Northern youths are planning attacks against Igbo property in the north because someone chose to sell out for political patronage. ”

Recall that Senator Rochas Okorocha has explained that the unending herdsmen crises, the banditry, the unending Boko Haram, and kidnapping in the country are all products of poverty and injustice.

He said, ” The recent attack on the Police headquarters and the Correctional Centre in Imo State, the unending herdsmen crises, the banditry, the unending Boko Haram, and kidnapping are all products of poverty and injustice and I think the time has come for us, political leaders, to tell ourselves the truth and address this ugly situation and help our men and women of the armed forces and the police who are currently fighting the symptoms and not the disease of poverty and injustice. “
