Leicester came a goal down to cement their grip for a top four finish when they defeated Crystal Palace thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho last minute goal..

Wilfried Zaha gave Crystal Palace the lead before the break at King Power Stadium before Timothy Castagne equalized for the host in the 50th minute.

It was Kelechi Iheanacho who stole the show ten minutes to time when he superbly finished and take his goal tally to 14 from 14 matches played for the Foxes.

The win leaves Leicester in third position with 62 points, four ahead of fourth placed Chelsea as the race towards a Champions League qualification heats up in England.

Speaking after the clash, Brendan Rodgers described the win as an important and tough one given that they have played three games in the last nine days. He continued by praising his side for keeping control and overturning the results.

“It was a very important win for us. It was the third game in nine days so a tough schedule. Going one behind against Palace, they’re super organised and tough to break down. I thought the players were outstanding. They kept the calmness and control and scored two very good goals.” Said Rodgers.

Leicester who are course to lift the FA Cup, matched their previous season points as they bounced back from a disappointing Champions League qualification to overturn their fourtunes.

Kelechi Iheanacho also becomes the second Nigerian on England soil to net the most goals in a single season behind Odion Ighalo when he played for Watford. The 24-year-old is fighting to take his tally higher with five games left to the end of the season.
