Good News For Biafra Groups As UK Makes Strong Promise To Grant Asylum To Persecuted Members (Details below)
According to the latest reports from Edujandon.com, they have disclosed that the United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has brought out new guidelines to its decision makers on how to put into consideration and to grant refuge applications by members of Biafran secessionist groups.
Asylum is to be granted to members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who were persecuted.
IPOB is a group which was formed in 2012 by Nnamdi Kanu and is believed to be an sub- body of MASSOB, which was founded in 1999 by Ralph Uwazuruike.
Both MASSOB and IPOB groups are agitating for the secession of mainly the south- east but also several other ethnic regions from Nigeria. Below are screenshots of the evidence for human right applications as released by them.
Moreover, the Nigerian government has condemned the United Kingdom’ s decision to grant asylum to ” persecuted” members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra.
Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, called it a disrespect to Nigeria, sabotage of the fight against terrorism and undermining of Nigeria’ s security.
Mohammed stated that the matter is the responsibility of the Minister of Foreign Affairs whom he believes will do it appropriately.
“Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian Federal Government, I would say that if the report that the United Kingdom is going to grant asylum to the alleged persecuted members of IPOB and MASSOB is true, Then something is incorrect somewhere.
“In view of the fact that IPOB is not only outlawed but also designated as a terrorist organization here in Nigeria, the UK’ s decision is a disrespect to Nigeria as a nation.
“This decision is tantamount to sabotaging the fight against terrorism and endangering the security of Nigeria. It’ s not just unreasonable, it’ s unexplainable, ” he said.
Mohammed cited the intensification of attacks against security agencies in the Southeast area.
The Minister stated that IPOB had been charged with masterpieces.
Nigeria said the United Kingdom should choose to give succour this time to the IPOB faith of beggars and calls to question the real intention of the United Kingdom.
