Why Indigenes And Settlers In Oyo State Must Protect Themselves And Not Pay Attention To Governor Makinde (Details below)

From all indication it looks like Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo cannot see that the days of deceit and manipulation of the people of Oyo state and indeed Nigerians at large over security issues are over.

Unfolding events have made it clear to the people of Oyo state that they must rise up and start seeing to their own safely or succumb to continuous violations from the Fulanis.

When all Makinde’ s hostilities and threat to Sunday Igboho, the youth activist and politician who is single handedly tackling the killer herdsmen failed to deter him, Makinde should have been able to decipher that the game of deceit was over.

24 hours after Oodua Peoples Congress arrested the notorious Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakilu, Governor Makinde came out to the public to utter the same trite statement he had attempted to use to deceive the good people of Oyo state and make them cheap targets for the Fulani marauders. His words were: ” The state will do everything within the law to prevent a miscarriage of justice”

Where was this government when herdsmen committed all kinds of atrocities against the people of Ibarapo? They were nowhere to be found.

Forcing the people to stay unguarded while promising government intervention that has never been there, is akin to instructing them to commit suicide and thankfully the people know this.

According to Makinde, the police had assured him that they will restore order. The question is, why did they not restore order in the past when Fulani herdsmen were on rampage but are now suddenly standing up to their responsibility of securing Ibarapo. The government is suddenly becoming responsive after the intervention of Sunday Igboho who rose to the defence of his people.

In the press statement released by Makinde he assured the people of Oyo state that the government is doing everything within its power to ensure that there is no miscarriage of justice, but again the question remains, ” where was the state when herdsmen were kidnapping, raping and killing in Oyo state to the extent that a man who returned from his long stay abroad to bring progress to the redundant youths of Oyo state through investments that created employment was massacred?

Where was Makinde the governor of the state? Both the state and Federal Government have failed the people of Oyo state in their primary responsibility of securing their lives and they have no justification demanding that these people lie low and depend on them for protection.

That’ s one very suspicious demand by the government upon a people doing the needful in the face of grave danger.
