Why Buhari, Governors Can’t Stop Nigeria’s Break-up – Nnamdi Kanu (Details below)
The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) , Nnamdi Kanu, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari and state governors cannot decide who stays or leaves Nigeria.
Edujandon.com reports that the pro-Biafra activist made this known in a post on his Twitter handle on Saturday.
The IPOB leader stated that only a referendum by the people could determine if they will remain in Nigeria or not.
He added that whether the country would disintegrate or remain integrated should be determined by the people via a referendum.
Nnamdi Kanu said: “Dear Nigerian Govs. It’s not your business to decide whether the people of your State should remain Nigerians or not. It’s not even the business of President or the Nigerian Army.
“Instead, it’s the business of the PEOPLE, freely expressed through a process called REFERENDUM.”
Recall that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. -Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru has warned that the Army will soon clamp down on separatist agitators such as Sunday Igboho and Kanu .
Naija News reports that the Attahiru gave the warning in Uyo at the first Commanding Officers’ Workshop 2021.
Speaking at the workshop, Attahiru warned that the Nigerian Army will deal decisively with every form of security threat confronting the nation, including those posed by the secessionist agitators like Igboho and Dokubo.
He stated that the Army would surmount attempts by some individuals to compromise the territorial integrity of the country by the declaration of sovereignty on behalf of ethnic nationalities in the country.
