“We Are Scared, Such A Thing Has Never Happened Before”- Governor Ganduje Reveals After Brief Meeting With President Buhari (Details below)

The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has revealed that the federal government is worried over the recent attempted assassination of his Benue counterpart, Governor Ortom.

Recall that some days ago, the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom was reportedly ambushed and attacked by some suspected militia herdsmen on his farmland along Makurdi- Gboko road in Benue State.

Governor Ortom described his ordeal as dangerous and scary, stating that he had to run for more than one and a half kilometers to escape the suspected militia herdsmen.

Thereafter a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in FCT, Abuja, he talked to reporters. The incident, as well as the country’ s instability, is troubling, according to the Governor.

President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Gov. Ganduje, wants a more secured and safe country, Nigeria, and that he believes a new policy will be established with the appointment of new service chiefs.

He said, ” Governors aren’ t the only ones who have been targeted by these criminals, and this is a huge problem. As it stands, Anyone in Nigeria who is attacked should be concerned, because life is life. ”

“The government is concerned because a governor is supposed to have security protection, let alone an ordinary citizen who does not, ” Gov. Ganduje explained.

Governor Ganduje called the situation ” severe” and ” unfortunate, ” but expressed confidence that Nigeria s s problems will be resolved.

Christian leaders have also requested that security forces investigate the Ortom attack, apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Governors of other states also talked about the attempted assassination of Governor Ortom by the suspected militia herdsmen.

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike also described that incident as worrisome. He warned the federal government that it would be held liable, should anything happen to his Governor Ortom.
