See How A Nigerian Woman Stabbed Her Husband To Death In A Fight (Photos below)
Akinbola Olamide who is 24 years of age has made headlines again last week after stabbing her lovely husband to death has been remanded in custody at Kirikiri Prison in the orders of the Ebute Meta Magistrate’ s Court, the Daily Post reported.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Komolafe ordered that the accused, a teacher and mother of two, remain in jail pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The Magistrate ordered that the case file be duplicated and a copy sent to the DPP for advice.
Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin had previously told the court that the woman stabbed her husband, Dare Akinbobola, 28, in the neck and died with a kitchen knife.
This case violates Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). The case was postponed to July 12.
According to sources, the tragic incident happened on the morning of Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the couple’ s home in Ikorodu. During an investigation last week, Olamide said she did not deliberately kill her husband.
She said her husband had a habit of beating her and she was still there in the morning when he took a knife to scare her, and then accidentally stabbed her.
According to her, neighbors know she is suffering from domestic violence at the hands of her husband.
She also said her family had told her to divorce the man after he fled home following one very violent incident, but she chose to stay with him because they have two children and he is the man of her youth.
“I did not kill him on purpose. He always beat me. Today, he pushed me down and started hitting me again. I took a knife to scare her, but I accidentally stabbed her. I would not deliberately kill my husband.
In the past, I would run out of the house when I was beaten, but today, everywhere was locked so that I could not escape.
My family had told me to break up with him but I didn’ t want to, because he is the man of my youth and we have two children together. You can ask around, everyone knows my husband always hit me. “
