The Abia state police Force on Tuesday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital paraded about twenty persons; 18 males and two females, arrested in Umuahia and Aba, the commercial nerve of the state for various criminal offenses including armed robbery and kidnapping.

The most Popular among the suspects were a four- man gang of a kidnapping and armed robbery gang that killed a husband and his wife at World Bank Housing Estate in front of their children which got so many people talking.

Reports gathered that the two couple’ s who were from Ebonyi state were identified as Mr. and Mrs. Darlington Uzonwa were killed by the hoodlums after they suspected that the couple knew one of them at the point of the robbery

It was also gathered that the children of the desease made an attempt to beg the arm robbers not to shoot their mum after they have already shot at their dad head, but the robbers went deaf ears.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Ene Okon while addressing journalists at the Police Command Headquarters during a press briefing in his office stated that he led the State police anti robbery squad that went after the hoodlums after they got hint of the incident.

According to Okon the police commissioner the police had already arrested the suspected hoodlums two hours after the committed the crime but however decided to keep it away from the public because they were pursuing other members of the gang that was at large.

He disclosed that the group who were from Umuahia are some members of a dreaded robbery gang whose leader identified as ” Grave” was killed late last year by the Police after a failed robbery operation in the state capital. He however sympathise with the family members of the murdered couple’ s and ask God to give them the power to bear the lost.

They children of the late couples couldn’ t hide their feeling but cried out for justice to be given to the killers of their parents. The state police commissioner assured the kids that the killers of their parents after being caught will also be killed.
