There was great cinfusion as the Bayelsa state Governor, Douye Diri honoured the two double first class graduate in law, Ms Ebizi Blessing Eradiri as the new face of Bayelsa Girl Child after giving it to the former Big Brother Naija housemate Nengi Hampson..

Governor Douye Diri also gave Nengi and another BBNAIJA housemate from Bayelsa, Trickytee appointment as a Senior Special Assistants to the Governor in November 2020.

But people wondered why Ms Eradiri was given the appointment meant for the BBN reality star, Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa State Governor, Daniel Alabrah speaking to BBC News Nigeria said the government didn’t removed Nengi as the face of Bayelsa Girl Child, that the government can give as many people as possible any title they want depending on the sector they want to emphasise.

“Nengi is for the entertainment sector so she can function on that aspect, while Ms. Ebizi Eradiri is at the educational side. All are for them to inspire and encourage girls in the state so they can become better in their aspirations. It’s too bad for people to speculate or politicise everything.” He said.

Alabrah observed that many commented on when the governor recognised Nengi last year he neglected Ms. Eradiri with a first class but add that, every sector has potential and advantage and it is for the government to look into ways they can encourage people on their different areas.

Meanwhile, Nengi in a tweet congratulated Ebizi Blessing Eradiri on her appointment as the new face of Bayelsa Girl Child were she wrote they will work together to bring better welfare for girl child in the State.
