Sometimes this year, a particular Catholic Priest went viral on the internet after visiting some family of Fulani Herders. The man of God was said to have visited the herders to celebrate and enjoy the merriment of sallah festival with the Muslim herdsmen. Here is the photos of the Nigerian Catholic priest, who visited the Fulani Herdsmen on sallah day to enjoy and celebrate their festival with them. Recalled that the story of the man have trended very well online, with lots of praises and commendation going toward his name and the church he represented.

Vividly looking at the photos, you can testify the joy and happiness on the faces of the Fulani herdsmen and the priest. All of them therein are happy and comfortable with the priest, the priest was seen eating the food offered to him by the Fulani Herdsmen. There was never an evidence of danger, fear or conflict to arise. This is how best love and unity should be preached in a country like Nigeria.

One and perhaps the most interesting thing that pleases many people including me at the sight of these photos, is the fact that both parties defies the odd of religious and ethnicity differences and showed true love towards each other. Indeed, this is a perfect show of love and understanding and it’s quite happening in our country where we have made to believe that we cannot find a common pace as far as our religion and tribal difference are concerned.

It must be stressed that this is a good action aiming at something good. This alone has shown that there are many civilized people in Nigeria, people who can foster peace and the love of God into the love we human beings need. Looking at it, you cannot say you love God when you do not love your fellow human being.

Religious difference has caused the country a lot of damages and it is as well affecting the control of power and several other things in Nigeria. It has slow the wheel of our development and progress as a country. It’s one good thing to note that Nigerians are becoming more civilized than what it used to be. Verily, unity and love are integral aspect of religion.
