An unidentified man has been lynched by angry mob on Wednesday for stealing car battery in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
We learnt that the man, married with four children was apprehended by the mob at Nwaniba Road, Uyo and beaten to pulp before being lynched.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), at Nwaniba road in Uyo, a certain man was caught stealing batteries from a bus and was beaten to a pulp before being burnt to death by the mob”.
“The man is said to be married with four children”, a source who gave his name as Emmanuel John said.
Our Reporter further learnt that in the spate of this week, not less than five persons have been lynched by a mob action in Uyo alone.
Meanwhile, the State Government is doing everything within it reach to curb crime in the state as it has deployed police officers and other security officials, who are now mounting roadblocks in Uyo and it environs.
