The former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan still have a slot to run for Nigerian presidency in the upcoming general election.

The next election which will take place in Nigeria will be in 2023. The 2023 presidential election will not be as competitive as that of 2015, neither that of 2019. The reason behind that is because Buhari, who has numerous supporters during the last election, will not be eligible to contest again.

For this reason, the former president Jonathan can simply win the 2023 election especially if he pick either Ibrahim Shehu Shema, or Engineer Rabi’u Kwankwaso.

Goodluck Jonathan, who was born on the 20th of November in 1957 is a Nigerian politician was elected as the president of Nigeria in 2011. And before then, Jonathan was a vice president to Umar Musa Yar’adua who was elected as the president of Nigeria in 2007, he died in 2010 while Jonathan continue ruling the country up to 2015 when Buhari defeated him.

Jonathan also served as the executive governor of Bayelsa State between 2005 and 2007.

2. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso: is another northern politician who was elected as the governor of Kano state between 1999 and 2003, and also from 2011 to 2015.

Kwankwaso is also among the most influential northern politician who has a lot of followers across the country.
