He said:
I have issued a statement supporting the reform of the police and of course also the disbanding of the SARS. He was trained by the police and I know the kind of job they are doing now, it is not the kind of job they were trained to do actually.
“You cannot face unarmed civilians in a democracy with guns. Do you ever see such in any part of the world? Only in this country, so it is totally unacceptable. Well, there is a need for them to reform the police actually to make it more civil.
Also in his comment on the protests against the SARS, a former governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, said that all institutions in Nigeria must be reformed to ensure better service delivery to the people.
He added that Nigerians have realised the best way to make the government do what they want and how they want it to be done.
