Omotola Apologises, Deletes Insensitive Tweet About Lekki Massacre

Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has apologized and deleted an insensitive tweet regarding the Lekki shooting on Tuesday night..


The military opened fire at peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate and according to reports, people died with many injured. Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Omotola asked Nigerians to quit sensationalizing information.

She wrote: “If People died during the Lekki Toll Assault, let their people speak out please and if there were No deaths then enough with the sensationalizing because it does not remove from the Crime that happened. PEACEFUL PROTESTERS WERE ATTACKED. WHY? BY WHOM! #EndImpunityinNigeria.”

It drew her a lot of backlash from Nigerians on social networking app. She has, thus, apologised and deleted the tweet.

“I hope you know I don’t doubt people died! I hope you understand that we need to collate these now and not continue with the I’m disappointed I’m leaving talks. Get Angry again. We Can’t Stop”, she added.
