Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has threatened to deal with a politician, Hussaini Nakura, who criticised the state government for allegedly hoarding the COVID-19 palliatives in the state.

Recall that Mr Nakura, who is the Chairman of Adamawa Concerned Citizens, had earlier this week granted an interview to an online TV, alleging that the COVID-19 relief items were not distributed to the poor and vulnerable citizens of the state.

Mr Nakura had also accused the governor of refusing to disclose the amount of money the state government received as COVID-19 donations from the federal government, banks, companies and other donor agencies.

Apparently upset by the comments, Mr Fintiri put a telephone call Mr Nakura on Wednesday evening, threatening to deal with the politician.

According to the audio transcript of the telephone conversation which transpired in Hausa language, Mr Fintiri threatened to deal ruthlessly with Mr Nakura if he ever speaks ill of him or his administration.

“I swear by Allah that I will deal with you ruthlessly if you ever speak about me. I promise that nobody can rescue you from my wrath in Nigeria,” he said.

During the short audio conversation obtained by Edujandon , Mr Nakura told the governor to do his worst, since, according to him, he could only jail him.
“The worst thing you can do to me is to put me in jail,” Mr Nakura said.
