The long-awaited voice has finally been heard. President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo has finally broken his silence on the ongoing #ENDSARS protest in Nigeria.

This was after many celebrities and well-meaning Ghanaians took to social and traditional media to heave coals on the head of the president who doubles as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Sharing his concern on his Twitter page, Nana Akufo Addo said that he has spoken to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and urged him to put an end to the current brutality in Nigeria.

“I join all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS impasse in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform.”

Violence, be it on the part of the Police or protesters, cannot be the solution. To the families who have lost their loved ones, I express my sincere condolences, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” he said.
