The reason is because Cristiano Ronaldo with whom he has been in direct contact with, has tested positive to the Corona virus. Although, Fernandes tested negative, He could still be forced to go for 14 days quarantine period.

The reason been that in the UK , coming in contact with a positive individual, You must self-isolate for two weeks. The other games Fernandes could miss if he his mandated is against Newcastle this weekend and another Champions league Group stage match against Leipzig.
