President Of The Government Of Catalonia Bids Messi Farewell Amidst Rumours

Joaquim Torra i Pla, known as Quim Torra, the current President of the Government of Catalonia has taken to his Twitter account to drop what Catalans and Barcelona fans an emotional farewell message amidst the rumour that the Barcelona Star has handed in a transfer request that will see him leave the club immediately..



According to Torra, Barcelona will always be home to the aggrieved footballer who wants out.

His words in part read:

Catalonia will always be your home. Thank you so much for all this time of happiness and extraordinary football. We have been lucky enough to share a few years of our lives with the best player in the world. And a noble athlete We will never forget you. Leo Messi, St. George’s Cross.

Meanwhile fans have started gathering at the Camp Nou, calling for the resignation of Josep Bartomeu, Barcelona FC president, hoping his resignation will keep Messi at the club.

Torra’s tweet is coming shortly after major sports outlet reported that Messi sent a fax to the club’s board, explaining that he wants out immediately. The likes of Carles Puyol have reacted on Twitter while soon-to-be retired players at the Camp Nou have all shown solidarity with Puyol.

Messi looks set to be joining the likes of Vidal, Rakitic, Pique, Suarez and Umtiti as players who won’t play in the Camp Nou as Barcelona players in the coming season.
