COVID-19: Mbaka cancels church reopening

Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, has cancelled the planned reopening of the ministry’s congregational worship services.

The church had earlier announced a planned reopening on July 5 following the lifting of the ban on religious gathering occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic..

But Mbaka in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, said, “Considering the peculiarity of the Adoration Ministry and her unique modus operandi, we concluded that the coast is not yet clear for the reopening of the ministry on July 5, as earlier agreed.”

“The unhealthy rising cases of the Covid-19 pandemic vis-à-vis the need for more time needed by the ministry to put adequate measures for prevention of the spread of the virus as recommended by the World Health Organisation have made it imperative to put on hold our planned reopening of the ministry. A new date for the reopening of the ministry will be communicated to you in due course.

“I thank God for His protective care and providence that have sustained us through this global trying moment. Let us with patience, faith and love keep covering each other with the Blood of Jesus Christ. Rev12.11.”
