BREAKING: Timo Werner has completed his £53m move to Chelsea & agreed a deal until 2025
According to BILD information, Timo Werner’s move from Leipzig’s Timo Werner to England club Chelsea is done. The striker has already signed a contract untill 2025. The reports say the total fee is about €53m(£47.5m).
Werner, who was also on Liverpool and Manchester City’s radar, should become the new face of the young Chelsea team. Chelsea coach Frank Lampard was in Leipzig before the Corona break, and also convinced Werner of joining the Blues on many phone calls..
After four very strong years at RB (93 goals in 157 games), Werner takes the delightful step into the strongest league in the world.
Before that, however, the Swabian wants to say goodbye to the Champions League qualification in Leipzig, two points from the last two games (Dortmund, Augsburg) are still needed. Then chapter RB for Werner is over. He does not plan to play the Champions League quarter-final with Leipzig in August, but instead will concentrate fully on his new job in London.
