Only One Coronavirus Test Was Conducted In Kogi – NCDC

According to a report by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Kogi state has the lowest figures of samples tested for the coronavirus pandemic.


A situation report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday May 19, has revealed that Kogi and Cross River states have the lowest figures of samples tested for Coronavirus.



While Cross River has tested seven samples all of which returned negative for COVID-19, Kogi on the other hand has tested only one sample for the virus.

The situation report also revealed that Lagos has carried out the highest number of Coronavirus test with 14,886 samples tested, followed by the FCT and Kano with 4,688 and 2,653 samples respectively.

The latest figures released by the NCDC is coming after Kogi commissioner for information, Kingsley Fanwo alleged that an NCDC team which arrived the state refused to be isolated or have their samples taken for tests.

On May 12, Fanwo said the Kogi state government procured about 5,000 test kits and tested 111 residents, all of which were confirmed negative for COVID-19
