English Premier League goalkeeper, Pepe Reina has revealed his struggle against Coronavirus (COVID-19), saying he feared for his life at some point because he could no longer breathe.

Reina, who currently plays for Aston Villa on loan from AC Mila, also said that he is now winning the battle against Coronavirus.

“I had endless minutes of fear when I notice no oxygen as if suddenly my throat had closed,” Reina told Corriere dello Sport.

“The most difficult moment was when I could no longer breathe, for 25 minutes, I ran out of oxygen. It was the worst moments of my life.

“I was very tired after experiencing the first symptoms of Coronavirus.

“A fever, dry cough, and a headache that never left me.

“It has been a different week of taking precautions not to infect my family.

“I do not miss their company because the house is big and it’s me, my wife Yolanda, five children and two in-laws.

“The house is big, and loneliness has no access to my home.

“I am winning the battle against coronavirus only now,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Premier League is currently suspended due to the spread of Coronavirus across the world.
